Each spring, the Europe Select Tournament brings together five different age groups over the course of five consecutive weekends in Budapest. In 2025, the series is now entering its third weekend, taking place from May 15–18, featuring the 2011-born players – the oldest age group in this year’s edition.
This weekend stands out not only for the level of play, but also for its international reach: 12 teams from 10 different countries will take the ice, proving once again the tournament’s growing reputation and strong European presence. For the players, it’s a key opportunity to test themselves against diverse competition, build experience, and showcase their talent on a bigger stage.
The tournament format remains consistent: teams are split into three groups of four, and each team will play seven games, each consisting of 2x20-minute halves – with the first 10 minutes running clock, and the second 10 minutes stop clock. After the group stage, the top two teams from each group advance to compete for places 1–6, while the others play for places 7–12.
Group A:
- Hungary Select White
- SHS Select
- Jabčki Select Slovenia
- White Lions
Group B:
- Budweis Stars
- Hungary Select Red
- Elite British Select
- Festival Hokeja
Group C:
- MAD East
- Ukraine Select
- Tördön Select
- Prospect Austria
Only for the 2011 age group, there is an exciting addition this year: team and player statistics will be featured on EliteProspects, allowing performances to be followed publicly throughout the event. This brings extra motivation and exposure for young players looking to take the next step in their development.
As always, every game will be streamed live, so fans, families, and scouts who can’t attend in person can still be part of the experience from wherever they are.
This weekend is more than just competition – it’s an important moment in the season for the 2011-born players, and another memorable chapter in the story of the Europe Select Tournament.
